Extend-A-Care YMCA Summer Day Camps offer children safe, exciting, and memory-making day camp experiences in a healthy environment for campers to learn and grow.
At Y Summer Camp, campers gain a sense of accomplishment, build relationships, and find their sense of belonging. For campers, Y Summer Camp provides opportunities for physical, social-emotional, and cognitive learning experiences.
And for parents, camp offers peace of mind knowing their child is in a safe and enriching place. This summer, the YMCA of Austin will offer 15+ camps across Travis and Hays Counties and include Preschool, Kinder, Theme, Sports, and Camp Moody (Adventure) camps. All camps include swimming, field trips, games, crafts, and character development activities.
Camps
will operate from 7:15 am - 6:30 pm at designated schools, churches, and YMCA facilities.
Activities are designed to build and reinforce the YMCA of Austin's character development values (Respect, Responsibility, Honest, Faith, and Caring) and the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets.
Fees are weekly, and financial assistance is available to all families on a first-come, first-served basis.
Preschool Camp (3-5 years) offers fun, educational weekly themes but at a slower pace with more quiet time. Campers benefit from an afternoon quiet/nap period as well as lower camper-to-staff ratio.
Kinder Camp (4-5 years) is perfect for children who have not yet attended Kindergarten and offers all the fun of day camp.
Theme Camp (5-12 years) is the traditional day camp experience. A different theme each week will offer kids new experiences mixed with old camp favorites. Themes to include Sharks 'n Minnows (swim lessons), Great Outdoors, and Olympiad.
Sports Camp (8-12 years) is a perfect destination for every child who enjoys playing sports and being active, emphasizing fundamentals of changing weekly sports.
Nature will be our playground this summer at Camp Moody (8-13 years), where older campers spend days outside exploring and learning through on-site activities like ropes course & zip line, canoeing, fishing, archery, and fossil hunting.
